Only thing I'm fighting is a bad case of hemoids!!!!
Progress certainly slowed down, but I think this is a concept that should still happen. We have typed the notes from the last meeting (at the crappy buffet resturant :) ) and I think everyone is on the same page. I was hoping we could accomplish the whole series before Pan Ams (Mar 31 & April 1), but since that wont happen maybe we can get the first one going in Late Feb Early March, and finish the 2nd two of the series in mid april early may. Just my .02

I think a tournament is what this area needs. Im going to vegas next weekend 2/10 for naga and then milwalkke for usa grappling on 2/17. Anyone else going to compete in any of these. Gokor is also having a tournament in la this weekend feb.3. I have plans to play my first major poker tournament that day so wont be able to compete.
I think a league would be a little much at this time. Unless it was a few schools in a small mile radius and was set up kinda like a recreation league.
I think what we need to do is hold a major central valley tournament. Im in the works with a few promotions about bringing one in, but would be more than happy to work with a group of locals to build one of our own.
If anyone is interested hit me up. peace bullet.
Christian. Would you ever be interested in holding a exhibition grappling match at one of your pfc events? It could be a starting ramp to interest people in a grappling tournament in this area. If this ideal was to come full circle. Please keep me in the loop. peace bullet

Ill be at the Hayastan Grappling Challenge this weekend in Glendale. So is anyone here still willing to help facilitate or plan this league/tournament? Do we need another meeting?

Its on Saturday, then back here on Sunday for Superbowl haha long weekend. Thinking about doing NAGA but we will see, money it takes to get there is the real issue.
Be sure to post how Gokers tournament is. I have heard mixed reviews of the tournament, (as I have heard mixed reviews about Goker in general). In my own personal experiences with him, he has been fine by me, and no doubt his guys had skills.
Regarding the All Valley Grappling Circuit, I think its just going to take one of us to step up and get it going. I would be more then happy to kick everything off with a tournament at New Era Martial Arts. Just a question of when...Mid March (Before Pan Ams) or Mid April (After Pan Ams)...Sooner is better IMHO.

Mako, Tosh and all others intrested in the tournament...
I was intrested before on the WEC forum because a lot of the clubs in the valley had representatives already on the forum so it would be easier to get the word out on the league. The idea still is interesting but this forum is still getting it's old members back so the word getting to all the different teams won't be as easy. I don't really want to do the leg work to find out all the different teams all over and I don't really want it to just be PMA, New Era. At this point I'd rather just let the forum attract more valley people so the word can get out easier about the tournament series.

I think having an all valley exhibition tourney would be a great start even if it were to be only a couple of schools. Maybe even set up something to have it after PFC 2, and handout flyers, and make an announcement during an intermission.

I'm pretty sure PMA is planning on having another "In House" tourney thats not technically "In House"... last i heard they were open to any schools joining in on the submissions or gi competition.

Pacific Martial Arts is indeed going to have a smoker March 31st... details to follow but as for now it looks to have MMA, Muay Thai and I'm not sure about submissions only yet...
