the ppv buys and gate attendance was probably in the 20-25 million range im guessing? and less than 1 million went to the fighters? hm.....

I believe the PPV buys have been around 750,000 - 1M purchases per event.
that would put it at 30-$40M in PPV alone. Add in live gate, sponsorship proceeds, re-play purchases and you have alot of fighters getting the short end of the stick. (I've heard that atleast one fighter gets a % of the PPV's, but I don't know if that applied to this particular event)

Remember though that the organizations geenrally take maybe 50% of the PPV cut. The PPV Distributors spend the money marketing the PPV's and a good rule of thumb is if the PPV is $40..then it's $20 per buy for the Org in this case Zuffa and $20 for the Distributor..plus there are a lot of marketing costs that are taken off the top before they split.
I was a part of a group who pitched the Showtime network a few years back when the Palace/Tachi Yokut tribe paid to get Frank Shamrock out of retirement for a WEC event..we met witht he heads of Showtime in NYC...they had zero interest at all...incredible how times have changed.
PPV's are typically not worth it unless it's a big event like UFC...does anyone even buy those KOTC/GC ppv's except maybe some of the fighters who fought in them..

Other than UFC's, I have never purchased any PPV MMA fights except a couple Pride's. I would really like to see my twin fight tomarrow, but the Maxi-Me is gonna have to go it alone, maybe the GreyCamel can hook me up w/a stealth link, he seems to have some camel 6th sense on where to find cool shit on the net.
With Palace Fighting, I would guess it would get a respectable showing on PPV here locally, and in select locations where the fighters are from, and some real die hard MMA fans, along the lines of where GC/KOTC gets its fans, but in about twice the vollume. With the show going on the road, that will only increase.
I'd give my left nut to see it regionalized (6 shows in Lemoore, 6 in the north, 6 in the south, 6 in the east, or something along those lines, working to a showdown of champions. I bet that is the format that will eventually de-throne the UFC. (Don't worry, Mr. Big Keyboard ove here knows, it's easier said than done...) That format would draw from more regions (ppv market increase) for the local, and championship matchups, w/a trickle down effect to see the other regions as well.
I still think UFC screwed the pooch when they moved WEC to Vegas, and failed to keep the show going in Lemoore, it would have had the exponential effect on the Lemoore show, w/a strong trickle up effect on the Vegas promotion. Guess they like Doggy Cooch, cuz they are doing it again by exterminating the Pride Fighting show after purchasing it. You can't keep "buying everyone outta business" it just won't be sustainable.
Wait, its friday, long weekend, dove season starts in 7 hours, and I'm still sober? Gotta go...
