Table Mountain MMA Melee on the Mountain Commercial

I just saw a commercial on Comcast for Melee on the Mountain at Table Mountain, wth was that! The whole commercial featured clips from Pride FC fights with Herring, Nog, Fedor, etc and nothing else! That just seems very misleading to me. Has anyone else seen this?

BTW, did anyone see Tosh's commercial with Royce during the last UFC Ultimate Fighter Finale?

I saw the same thing ... is there any way the can get busted or sued for this, or is this like the organization in Poterhell doing whatever to sell tickets... pretty shady if you ask me

Guys, I trademarked the term "Porter-Hell" back in 2001, TKjr was present. We resented the travel time to get their, the Inbred clientelle, and bullshit 60 hour weeks. I expect royalties when it is used w/o permission.

Billy is on the card in the Main Event. I have not seen the commercial, but I assure you if they are using clips of fights with frighters not scheduled to appear on the card in an attempt to profit, they are very much open for legal action.

If they say "X" fighter is gonna fight, and they know that fighter is not gonna fight...their F****d if someone sues. (bad news, they won't get much money, and most of the setlement will be discount cupons to future SF shows....)

Ie: Any GC show when they put Tomato Can on the poster, and Chicken Soup shows up...same can of worms

Anytime licensed material is used in a manner deemed to create profit without the permission of the owner of the content there are major legal issues to deal with.

If Zuffa hears of this I am guessing they would not be happy. But again I haven't seen it so I don't know exactly how their using the footage.

All the commercial has is an announcer voice stating "Melee on the Mountain MMA with some of the best fighters around...blah....blah...blah" No names are mentioned at all. But during the entire commercial it just shows a Pride Highlight, like Yvels knockout on Frye, Herring screaming and pumping his arms after winning, and other clips featuring Nog and lots of others who I cant quite pick off the top of my head. Anyways, it was bad, just a 30 second Pride Highlight Video.

All local fighters pretty much..Rocky (yeah the trainer/pink/blue/orange hair) is fighting, Mike Martinez is on, The tall female that trains at PMA, Michelle?, she's fighting..Billy, Rocky, Just Mike and Michelle...that's 4 of the 7 bouts.

i agree that the commercial was misleading. they'll probably get away with it because a majority of the tuf noobs who will be in attendance wouldn't know who any of fighters from pride are. these are the same people who thought chris leben would ko anderson silva.

on a side note, kk is correct. he did patent the term porterhell in 2001.

Glad you saw it. We ran it on comcast during most of the entire TUF season. By the way TRIP, did you make it to the AVC in-house tournament this last weekend?

Knee is healing. I'm taking my time trying to get healthy. I still have some other lingering injuries that I need to address before I return.

My body has taken a pretty severe toll. In 15 years of martial arts (10 years of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, and 8 years of MMA) I have had the following injuries:
-3 Broken Noses
-3 Concussions
-Left Knee PCL/LCL Grade 2 tear and scope
-Right Knee PCL/LCL Grade 3 tear and reconstruction
-Torn Ear Drum
-Partially Torn Rotator Cuff
-Elbow Bursitus and subsuqent draining
-2 boxers fractures (Right Hand)
-2 Herniated Discs in Lower Back
-3 Protruding Discs in Neck (my current ailment)
-More sprained fingers, broken toes, busted ribs then I can count.

The long and short is you wont see back in MMA in 2007. You will see me back eventually. Can't stop even if I wanted to.

LoL Kankle. Last time I saw Ruger before saturday was a few months ago. We interact with each other on this forum far more then anywhere else. Doubt he knew I was injured again because he hasn't seen me in class.

I do think this last fight lit a fire with him, and he is going to bring it together...the dude lost weight too...stranger things have happened.

Besides, I only had about two secs till my last summer school final was starting and I had to re-boot my laptop for examsoft.

Oh, I wasn't worried anyways, I was in clovis, and they arrest the occupants of taco trucks when they cross over from Frezno (historical spelling, not slang) and I live in Kingsburg...they too frown upon taco trucks.
